Music

Ensemble SCALA has an unique repertoire of microtonal music in various styles. Several composers have written especially for the ensemble since the founding in 2010. All the works of these composers are entirely different. There is just one corresponding element: microtones, which is actually nothing more than a musical brick. Among the composers who have written for Ensemble SCALA are Lucio Garau (IT), Gijsbrecht Roijé (NL), Joachim F.W. Schneider (D), Peter Adriaansz (NL), Steffen Krebber (D), Sander Germanus (NL), Ned McGowan (USA/NL), François Gabriel Madden (CAN), Danny de Graan (NL), Juhani Nuorvala (FIN) and Arnold Marinissen (NL). A repertoire that is diverse, colorful and intriguing.
